Is there a musical artist you like, I mean REALLY like?
You probably like them for more than just their big hits. They have deep cuts, where the lyrics resonate with you, where the music transports you somewhere else.
You are a true fan because deep down, you really understand what they are trying to say.
At Raskol, our hidden gems would be our mythology line. None of the designs have ever been number one hits out of the gate.
Yet, they consistently sell, very well. And amongst hardcore Raskols, they are amongst the favourite designs.
They are favourites because they take a little bit of exploring to really understand.
For example, with our Gilgamesh design, we are depicting the oldest demigod, Gilgamesh, battling his eternal nemesis, Humbaba.
Gilgamesh is the original Hercules and is regarded as the strongest, most powerful human to ever exist.
Written in ancient Sumerian is the word “ANNUNGAL” which means strongest or most powerful.
This is a hardcore design.
We are evoking the collective myths of our history's past to inspire us in our current pursuits of bringing about our best selves. We wear the Gilgamesh or Hercules design because we want to be inspired by their accomplishments. To motivate us to conquer our own foes, internal or external.
It's not exactly something just anyone might “get”. And that dividing line, between those that understand and those that follow the latest banal trend, is what seperates a Raskol from everyone else.
I write this to say that recently we've restocked our four most popular mythology tees: Hercules, Gilgamesh, Milo & Thor.
